Additionally, the expectant mothers were treated to sumptuous snacks specially prepared to make their Mother’s Day celebration memorable.

This special Mother’s Day celebration, organized by ZED Multimedia in collaboration with Greater Accra Regional Hospital also known as Ridge Hospital, was made possible through the generous sponsorship of several companies.

The initiative aimed to bring joy and comfort to expectant mothers and those who had recently given birth, acknowledging their incredible journey and the sacrifices they make for their families.

It was a heartening gesture that highlighted the importance of celebrating and supporting mothers, especially during such significant moments in their lives.

During a discussion programme held at the premises of the hospital which was aired live on ZED 101.9 fm, the Commission Secretary at the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Lucille Hewlett Annan, advised mothers to seek help in balancing their work life and motherhood journeys.

She stated that while it’s not easy, it is achievable once mothers seek assistance, or else they’ll face burnout.

“If your parents are alive and can help you, all the better. But if they are not, and you can get someone to assist you, do so to ease the pressure,” she said.

She noted that seeking help is crucial for women to achieve their career goals and aspirations while preventing burnout.

She stressed the importance of seeking support to reduce pressure, especially in competitive career environments.

She also advised men to encourage their wives to seek help and contribute by paying these house helps well to reduce the workload on their wives.

“Get help when you need it, be it social support or emotional support, bearing in mind that you can have it all,” she explained.

Madam Annan added that women should not be limited to only having babies but should know that they have a lot of potential and should be encouraged to live their best lives after having children.

“You can have it all: your body, children, beauty, spouse, business, among others. You are an embodiment of power,” she stressed.

She noted that women shouldn’t limit themselves after giving birth adding that women should take care of themselves.

Founder of Sun Shade Energy, Sherry Donaldson-Thompson, also encouraged women to manage their time effectively.

She noted that time management is crucial, emphasizing that women should allocate time for everything.

“Time must become your friend, and we must stop saying time is not on our side,” she added.

Donaldson-Thompson, stressed the importance of understanding the role of mothers as stewards in guiding their children’s paths, highlighting the significance of guidance rather than imposing desires on children.

“God gives children, but mothers must recognize that they are stewards and are not allowed to dictate their children’s actions.

“Whatever the child has, it comes out in them, and you’ll see it. All you have to do is guide them, “she explained. She added that it’s important to nurture and support children’s natural inclinations.
