Stonebwoy Pays Emotional Tribute to Fantan Mojah

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has paid a heartfelt tribute to legendary Jamaican reggae musician Fantan Mojah following news of his death, describing him as a towering cultural figure whose music transcended entertainment and inspired millions across the globe.

In a post shared on X, formerly Twitter, Stonebwoy reflected on Fantan Mojah’s recent visit to Ghana for the 2025 Bhim Festival, where the reggae icon was celebrated for his contribution to conscious music and African culture. The award-winning musician said it was a privilege to host Fantan Mojah in what he described as the Motherland.

“The Macka Tree Goes Home. It was an honor to welcome you to the Motherland and to celebrate your legacy at BHIMFESTIVAL 25,” Stonebwoy wrote. Drawing inspiration from Fantan Mojah’s acclaimed song Macka Tree, Stonebwoy praised the late reggae star for remaining steadfast in his commitment to culture, truth and uplifting messages throughout his career.

“You stood tall like the Macka Tree rooted in culture, unshaken in truth, and sheltering generations with your sound. Rest well, Jah Warrior,” he said. Stonebwoy noted that although Fantan Mojah had departed physically, his influence would continue to resonate through his music and the values he championed.

“You have returned to the ancestors, but your voice echoes still through every speaker, every prayer, every movement of righteousness,” he stated.

The Ghanaian musician further highlighted the profound impact Fantan Mojah had on listeners worldwide, describing his songs as a source of healing, strength and hope rather than mere entertainment.

“Your songs were more than music, they were medicine, they were fire, they were faith. You uplifted my spirit, and you continue to uplift millions worldwide,” Stonebwoy added.

He concluded his tribute by writing, “Fantan Mojah Forever in our hearts.”

Fantan Mojah was widely respected as one of Jamaica’s leading conscious reggae artistes, earning international recognition for songs that promoted faith, justice, African identity and social consciousness. His music resonated with audiences across continents, cementing his legacy as a powerful voice for positive change in reggae music.
