AGS, NEIP Forge Global Partnerships to Boost Startup Growth

The Association of Ghana Startups (AGS), in partnership with the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), has concluded a high-level trade and investment mission to Europe aimed at attracting investment, building strategic partnerships and creating global opportunities for Ghanaian startups.
The mission, organised under the Ghana Startups Trade Missions initiative, brought together startup founders and NEIP officials for engagements at two major international innovation and technology platforms, the FEF AI for Sustainable Development Conference in France and GITEX Europe 2026 in Berlin, Germany.
According to AGS, the initiative was designed to position Ghana’s startup ecosystem on the global stage by connecting local entrepreneurs with international investors, technology leaders and emerging markets.
The delegation included NEIP Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Joan Selassie Ahiawodor, two directors and an administrative staff member, highlighting government’s commitment to entrepreneurship, innovation and private sector-led economic growth.
Speaking after the mission, President of AGS, Solomon Adjei, said Ghana’s startup ecosystem is experiencing significant growth but requires stronger international partnerships to accelerate its expansion.
He said Ghanaian startups have the potential to compete globally and benefit from increased access to investment, technology and new markets through strategic collaborations with international partners.
Mr. Adjei commended NEIP for its continued support and partnership in promoting Ghanaian entrepreneurship beyond the country’s borders.
The mission focused on establishing strategic partnerships with global startup ecosystem players, unlocking funding opportunities, promoting technology transfer and facilitating knowledge sharing.
It also sought to expand the international market presence of Ghanaian startups while encouraging collaboration in key sectors including artificial intelligence, digital innovation, climate technology, fintech, agritech, healthtech and deep technology.
At the FEF AI for Sustainable Development Conference, the Ghanaian delegation participated in discussions on the responsible use of artificial intelligence to support sustainable development and inclusive economic growth.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for the delegation to interact with global experts on how artificial intelligence can help address Africa’s development challenges while creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs.
During GITEX Europe 2026 in Berlin, one of Europe’s leading technology and startup exhibitions, the delegation showcased Ghana’s innovation ecosystem, engaged investors and technology companies, and held discussions aimed at securing long-term partnerships for startup development and digital transformation.
The mission also included engagements with Ghana’s High Commissions in France and Germany, as well as European institutions, to explore collaborations in startup exchange programmes, policy development, research partnerships and international trade.
AGS said it remains committed to strengthening Ghana’s startup ecosystem through global partnerships, policy advocacy, capacity building, ecosystem development and investment promotion.
