Ghana Targets Foreign Investors as MoTAI Hosts Global Investment Webinar

The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry (MoTAI) will on Thursday, July 9, host the “Investing in Ghana” Webinar as part of a major international capital mobilization drive aimed at attracting foreign investment and strengthening Ghana’s position as a leading investment destination in the West African sub-region.
The virtual forum, held under the theme “Ghana is Open for Business: Unlocking Strategic Investment Opportunities,” is scheduled to take place from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM Central European Time and is expected to bring together European investors, corporate leaders, institutional fund managers, government officials, and private sector representatives to explore investment opportunities in Ghana.
The initiative, led by the Sector Minister, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, forms part of government’s broader strategy to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), promote international partnerships, and showcase Ghana’s industrial transformation agenda to global investors.
According to MoTAI, the webinar will provide a platform for participants to discover key investment opportunities under the government’s 24-Hour Economy Programme and the Investment Opportunities Mapping Project (IOMP).
The Ministry said the engagement will allow potential investors to interact directly with officials from the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), the Permanent Mission of Ghana in Geneva, Switzerland, and members of the Swiss private sector.
The webinar is being co-hosted by the GIPC, Ghana’s main investment promotion agency, and the Permanent Mission of Ghana in Geneva, with the aim of connecting Ghana’s investment opportunities with international capital markets.
The virtual platform will enable European corporate executives and institutional investors to receive first-hand information from policymakers on investment regulations, incentives, infrastructure opportunities, and measures to support business operations in Ghana.
A key feature of the forum will be the presentation of investment opportunities linked to the 24-Hour Economy Programme, which seeks to encourage continuous production through multi-shift operations in industries across the country.
The programme is expected to appeal to foreign manufacturers, agro-processors, and infrastructure developers by offering opportunities to expand production capacity, improve efficiency, and take advantage of Ghana’s strategic location within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The Ministry said the Investment Opportunities Mapping Project will also play a central role in the discussions by providing investors with information on viable projects across different districts and economic sectors.
Through the IOMP framework, investors will have access to project profiles, land availability information, and data on local raw material resources to help them identify suitable business opportunities and reduce challenges associated with entering new markets.
Swiss companies, known for their expertise in areas including precision machinery, sustainable agriculture technologies, pharmaceutical manufacturing and financial services, are being considered important partners in Ghana’s industrial development drive.
