I Have Been Single For Some Time Now – Akosua Agyapong

Highlife musician Akosua Agyapong has confirmed that she is currently single, stating that she has been without a partner for some time despite public perceptions suggesting otherwise.

Speaking in a recent interview, the celebrated musician clarified that her marital status has often been misunderstood and that she has consistently made her situation known in previous public appearances.

According to her, she has been single for a while and has previously addressed the matter on several platforms.

“Honestly speaking, I’m single now, I’ve been single for a while,” she said.

She explained that confusion sometimes arises because her status on certain platforms still reflects that she is married, a situation she has been working to correct.

“It’s on my status that I’m married, and I want to clarify it. I’ve done that on several shows, not just this one,” she added, referencing earlier interviews including one with broadcaster Gifty Anti.

Akosua Agyapong also addressed speculation linking her to veteran musician Amandzeba Nat Brew, clarifying that the relationship ended many years ago and has no connection to her current marital status.

“Amandzeba was in the year 2000. It has nothing to do with my marriage, and I don’t want to talk about it,” she stated.

She used the opportunity to reflect on the importance of privacy in the lives of public figures, particularly regarding relationships and marriage.

According to her, celebrities do not need to disclose every detail of their personal struggles, especially when relationships break down.

“As a musician, your private life has nothing to do with your career. You don’t need to grant interviews detailing everything that caused your marriage to end; the person might be going through worse than yours,” she noted.

She further advised that when marriages do not work out, individuals should be allowed to move on without blame or public scrutiny.

“If it is a problem, pack your goods and go your way. If marriage doesn’t work, it’s no one’s fault,” she said.

Akosua Agyapong was previously married to Prophet Daniel Asamoah-Larbi after her earlier relationship with Amandzeba ended. Her latest comments have since generated public discussion about celebrity privacy and the pressures of public life.
