Tyla Drops Teaser for New Single Ahead of Major Album

South African Grammy-winning star Tyla has set social media ablaze after unveiling a cinematic teaser for her upcoming single “IS IT LOVE?”, which is scheduled for release today alongside its official music video.

The 16-second clip, shared across platforms including X, offers a moody and intimate preview of what fans believe could be another defining moment in the singer’s fast-rising global career. The teaser opens with Tyla seated barefoot in a dimly lit room, bathed in deep blue tones and shadowy lighting. Dressed in a simple white shirt with her signature curls flowing freely, she presents a vulnerable yet commanding presence that has become central to her artistic identity.

The visuals then cut to bold pink typography revealing the song title and global release times, followed by branding tied to her “A POP” era. The single is part of her highly anticipated sophomore album, expected on July 24, 2026, under FAX and Epic Records.

Tyla rose to international fame in 2023 with her breakout hit “Water,” which earned her the inaugural Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance and propelled her debut project into global recognition.

Speaking through past interviews, Tyla has consistently expressed her desire to blend sound and emotion in her work, once noting, “I want people to feel the music before they even understand it. It’s about emotion first, always.”

Early reactions to the teaser suggest she may be continuing that artistic direction. Fans have praised the snippet’s atmospheric production and guitar-driven sound, with many describing it as a strong contender for “song of the year” even before its full release.

Industry watchers say the new single is a strategic lead-in to her A*POP era, following previous releases such as “Chanel” and her collaboration “She Did It Again” with Zara Larsson, both of which performed strongly on global streaming platforms.

The upcoming 14-track album is expected to further explore Tyla’s fusion of Afropop, R&B and global dance influences, a blend that has helped position her as one of the most influential young African artists on the world stage.
