Queiroz Vows Black Stars Will Make Fans Proud at World Cup

Head coach of the Black Stars, Carlos Queiroz, says his team is ready to make Ghanaians proud by winning as many games as possible at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

He made the remarks during a send off party for the team as they moved to Rhode Island, their base for the tournament. Queiroz, who was appointed in April, is heading to the World Cup for the fifth time in his career after previous stints with Iran.

Ghana will face England, Croatia, and Panama in Group L. The coach expressed confidence that his players are prepared to deliver strong performances. “On behalf of my boys, I can guarantee that when you finish watching the games, you will want to be proud of them; I am sure of that,” he said.

Queiroz stressed that the team’s main goal is to bring joy to fans. “Our duty and our goal is to make people happy. And the more you win, the more people you make happy. We are ready to do that,” he added.

The Black Stars are entering the tournament with high expectations, aiming to improve on past performances and make a significant impact on football’s biggest stage. The Ghana Football Association says preparations have been focused on building team spirit, tactical discipline, and resilience.

Fans across Ghana are hopeful that Queiroz’s experience and leadership will guide the team through a challenging group. The send off party reflected the excitement and support surrounding the squad as they embark on their World Cup campaign.
