Michael Blackson Touts Ghana as Africa’s Leading Tourism Hub

Ghanaian-American comedian and actor Michael Blackson has praised Ghana’s growing reputation as a top tourism and investment destination, describing the country as the leading tourism hotspot on the African continent.

Blackson made the remarks during his unveiling as the brand ambassador for MCL Ghana’s Grand Panache project at a ceremony held at Palms by Eagles in Airport, Accra. The event brought together business leaders, investors, real estate stakeholders and members of the media to showcase the luxury residential development.

Grand Panache is a premium real estate project designed to provide high-end residential accommodation for homeowners, corporate tenants and investors. The development is also targeting members of the Ghanaian diaspora seeking secure and profitable investment opportunities in the country.

Addressing guests at the event, Blackson highlighted Ghana’s increasing popularity among international visitors and investors, attributing the trend to the country’s stability, hospitality and growing economic opportunities.

“Ghana is the number one tourism country in Africa right now,” he stated.

The comedian further underscored the scale of tourism activity in the country, noting that visitor arrivals continue to contribute significantly to Ghana’s economy and international profile.

“Ghana gets over 2 million people visiting the country every year,” he added.

Blackson said he intends to use his influence and platform to encourage more people of African descent living abroad to reconnect with their roots by visiting, investing and settling in Ghana. According to him, strengthening ties between the diaspora and the continent remains essential for economic growth and cultural development.

His appointment as brand ambassador for the Grand Panache project is expected to support efforts to market Ghana as an attractive destination for luxury living and real estate investment.

Industry observers note that Ghana has in recent years positioned itself as a preferred destination for tourism, conferences, cultural experiences and diaspora engagement initiatives, attracting growing interest from international visitors and investors.

The Grand Panache development forms part of broader efforts by private sector players to meet rising demand for premium housing and investment properties in the capital.

Blackson’s endorsement is expected to further boost visibility for the project while reinforcing Ghana’s image as an emerging hub for tourism, investment and diaspora engagement in Africa.
