Tyla and Future Unveil FIFA 2026 Anthem

Global music stars Tyla and Future have joined forces on “Game Time,” the official single for the FIFA World Cup 2026, in a high-energy collaboration blending South African pop influences with Atlanta trap.

The track, produced by Cirkut, is scheduled for release on May 29, 2026, just days before the tournament begins across the United States, Canada and Mexico. It has already generated global excitement, with FIFA confirming the project through its official channels alongside the promotional tagline: “What time is it? It’s GAME TIME.”

The announcement has sparked widespread reaction across social media, positioning the song as an early contender for one of the tournament’s defining stadium anthems.

Tyla, the South African Grammy-winning star known for her global hit “Water,” brings her signature fusion of amapiano-inspired pop, dance energy and youthful charisma to the project. At 23, she has emerged as one of Africa’s fastest-rising global music exports, with a career marked by viral choreography and international chart success.

Future, the Atlanta rap heavyweight often referred to as “the Wizard,” contributes his distinctive melodic trap style and global commercial appeal. With a long list of chart-topping albums and influential collaborations, he adds significant weight to FIFA’s global music campaign.

Early previews of “Game Time” suggest a high-tempo anthem built around themes of pressure, focus and victory, designed to capture the emotional intensity of elite football. The record is expected to feature prominently in stadiums, broadcasts and fan celebrations throughout the tournament.

FIFA confirmed that both artists will also perform at the official opening ceremony in Los Angeles on June 12, 2026, alongside other global stars including Katy Perry, LISA of BLACKPINK, Anitta and Rema.

The collaboration reflects FIFA’s broader strategy of using music as a cultural bridge for the tournament, which will be the first to feature 48 teams and be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Industry observers note that FIFA’s recent music rollouts aim to replicate the global impact of previous tournament anthems such as Shakira’s “Waka Waka” and Ricky Martin’s “The Cup of Life,” which became defining cultural moments beyond football.

Speaking on the growing influence of global football music campaigns, FIFA described the project as part of its effort to connect fans through sound, culture and sport.

“The energy around this World Cup is unprecedented, and music is central to how we bring fans together across continents,” FIFA officials indicated in promotional messaging.

Reactions from fans have been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the unexpected pairing of Tyla and Future. One social media user summed up the excitement, saying it represents “Atlanta meets Johannesburg on the biggest stage in the world.”

The track also highlights the increasing global dominance of African music, with Tyla’s involvement seen as a significant milestone for the continent’s cultural export industry.

Future’s participation further extends his influence in sports-linked music, following previous appearances at major global sporting events and a career defined by crossover appeal.

With pre-save links already active and anticipation building, “Game Time” is expected to become one of the defining soundtracks of the 2026 football summer when the World Cup officially kicks off on June 11.
