Kingzkid Reveals Spiritual Inspiration Behind New EP “Spiritual Songs”

By Esther Korantemaa Offei

Urban gospel artiste Kingzkid has opened up about the inspiration behind his latest EP, “Spiritual Songs”, describing the project as one deeply rooted in scripture, personal experiences and revelations about God’s mercy.

Speaking in an interview on Highway 10.19 on ZED FM, the musician explained that the EP was inspired by Ephesians chapter five, verses 18 and 19, which encourages believers to speak to one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs while being filled with the spirit.

According to him, the project reflects different dimensions of God’s love and grace through songs such as “The Blood”, “Explain Tire”, “Burning” and “Living Water”.

“I picked directly from that scripture, but it was also birthed from my revelation of God as the God of mercy. Every song represents a nature of God’s mercy,” he said.

Kingzkid noted that the EP was created to encourage believers and remind people that God remains faithful through difficult moments in life.

“Sometimes you look back on your life and realise that God really loves you. People have survived depression, near-death experiences and painful situations, and it makes you realise that God never lied about His love for you,” he stated.

The artiste explained that “Spiritual Songs” serves as reassurance of God’s presence and promises, especially for people facing personal struggles.

Speaking on the production process, Kingzkid described the project as the most expensive music project of his career so far. He disclosed that significant resources went into production, background vocals, mixing, mastering and promotion.

“This is my most expensive project because a lot went into it, from production to mixing, mastering and promotion, but I also had a lot of fun making it,” he revealed.

The gospel musician also educated listeners on the difference between an EP and a full album, explaining that an EP, meaning Extended Play, contains fewer songs than a standard album.

Reflecting on his previous albums “Vindicated” and “Metamorphosis”, Kingzkid said their titles were inspired by his spiritual journey and biblical teachings.

“Vindicated was about being freed from past sins and accusations, while Metamorphosis represented transformation through the word of God,” he explained.

Kingzkid further revealed that the creation of “Spiritual Songs” involved intense recording sessions with producers Money Beats and Volvo. According to him, some of the production sessions lasted throughout the night as the team worked to perfect the project.

He expressed optimism that the EP would inspire listeners and strengthen their faith through its message of hope, grace and spiritual renewal.
