Fidelity Banks’ Orange Market Supports Ghana’s Emerging Businesses

Fidelity Bank Ghana has hosted the third edition of its Orange Market, giving young entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their products and services.

The event, held in partnership with the Accra Goods Market at Enclave Gardens, provided 40 youth-led businesses an opportunity to test their business models and generate revenue.

The Orange Market is a flagship initiative under the Fidelity Young Entrepreneurship Initiative (FYEI), designed to support recipients of the Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF), a programme implemented in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The initiative forms part of Fidelity Bank’s wider commitment to helping young enterprises progress beyond access to capital toward sustainable growth by providing market exposure and visibility.

Since its launch in 2024, the Orange Market has rapidly grown. From hosting 35 entrepreneurs in its first edition and 20 in the second, this third edition featured a record 40 youth-led businesses, bringing the total number of market opportunities created to 95 in just two years.

Speaking on the initiative’s importance, Head of Partnerships, Sustainability and CSR at Fidelity Bank, Nana Yaa Afriyie Ofori-Koree, stressed the value of connecting entrepreneurs with real commercial opportunities.

“We understood early on that while funding, capacity building, training, and certification are vital, they are insufficient if these talented businesses lack access to a market,” she said.

“The Orange Market addresses this challenge. By partnering with established platforms like the Accra Goods Market, which has spent over a decade perfecting the connection between vendors and consumers, we are giving our young entrepreneurs a strong commercial advantage. Our aim is to expand this initiative continuously, introducing beneficiaries to diverse, high-value platforms where they can compete, grow, and build resilient brands.”

The collaboration with the Accra Goods Market over the past two editions has proven highly effective, combining Fidelity Bank’s pipeline of structured, investor-ready startups with an engaged consumer base.

Makafui Ayimey, Founder of the Accra Goods Market, emphasized the value of the partnership:

“For more than ten years, the Accra Goods Market has focused on creating spaces where local businesses can thrive and engage with the community,” Mr. Ayimey said.

“Partnering with Fidelity Bank for the Orange Market has been exceptional. The entrepreneurs participating are well-prepared, innovative, and market-ready. This collaboration demonstrates that when corporate institutions and ecosystem builders join forces, we can create a powerful launchpad for Ghana’s next generation of business leaders.”

The 40 businesses featured at the third Orange Market spanned multiple sectors, including agribusiness, sustainable fashion, tech-enabled services, and the creative arts. Through FYEI, these entrepreneurs have already benefited from patient capital, expert mentorship, and rigorous business training. The Orange Market now provides them with visibility and revenue streams crucial for surviving the critical early stages of growth.
