Stonebwoy Inspired My Song writing Growth – Adina Thembi

Ghanaian singer Adina Thembi has revealed that working with Stonebwoy pushed her to take greater control of her songwriting, as she prepares to release her most personal album yet.
Speaking in an interview to promote her new single “Stay Far”, Adina described her upcoming album “Becoming” as a defining moment in her career. According to her, the project reflects growth, healing and self-discovery.
“This talks about my life as a young woman going through different stages, finding myself. I’m bearing it all. I’m ready to show people who I am, flaws and all,” she said.
She explained that while her previous album “Araba” introduced fans to a more vulnerable side, “Becoming” goes further, confronting personal experiences and emotional battles.
“Trauma can ruin something beautiful that you’ve worked so hard for. I don’t want to carry baggage from the past into my future,” she noted.
Adina said healing and self-awareness are central to her evolution, both as a woman and as an artiste. “Becoming a better artiste starts with becoming a whole person,” she said, adding that she has intentionally focused on personal growth to give her best to fans.
The lead single, “Stay Far”, sets the tone for the album with an empowering message about protecting one’s energy. “If I’m on a journey to become something, I don’t need negative energy,” she explained.
She also credited her collaboration with Stonebwoy on “Take Care of You” as a turning point. According to her, the experience encouraged her to write more of her own verses and trust her creative instincts.
When it comes to trends, Adina remains firm. “I’m very wary of changing who I am because of trends. You have to stick to what makes you unique,” she said.
“Becoming” is expected to be released in May, marking what she describes as a bold new chapter in her musical journey.
