Arbeloa Insists Real Madrid Will Fight On in La Liga Title Race

Real Madrid head coach Álvaro Arbeloa has vowed that the club will not abandon its pursuit of the La Liga title, despite slipping further behind arch-rivals FC Barcelona in the standings.
Madrid’s title ambitions suffered a setback after a 1-0 defeat to Osasuna, followed by another 1-0 loss at home to Getafe CF. The back-to-back defeats leave Los Blancos four points adrift of league leaders Barcelona, who sit on 64 points with 12 matches remaining in the season.
Speaking at a press conference, Arbeloa, who is serving as interim head coach, stressed that the title race is far from over.
“There are 36 points left to play for and our only objective is to fight for all 36. Nobody here is going to throw in the towel. This is Real Madrid, nothing is given up until the final match,” he said.
The former Madrid defender acknowledged the gap but expressed confidence that his side can close it.
“Four points is a difference we believe we can overcome. That is what we will fight and work for, starting with the next match in Vigo. This is Real Madrid and nobody here is going to give up,” Arbeloa added.
With the season entering its decisive phase, Madrid must quickly rediscover form if they are to keep pace with Barcelona in what promises to be a tightly contested run-in.
