Mahama Opens 24-Hour DVLA Office at Adenta Bus Terminal

President John Dramani Mahama has announced the establishment of a new 24-hour operational office by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority at the Adenta Bus Terminal in Accra.
Delivering the State of the Nation Address on February 27, 2026, President Mahama said the move forms part of efforts to expand public service delivery and improve convenience for motorists within the Adenta Municipality and the wider Greater Accra Region.
“The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority, as part of its expansion efforts, has established a new operational office at the Adenta Bus Terminal in Accra,” the President told Parliament. “If you need any service from DVLA, go to Adenta. There’s an office open there day and night.”
According to him, the facility operates around the clock to provide continuous access to essential services, including driver’s licence applications and renewals, vehicle registration and other related transactions.
The President emphasized that the round-the-clock operation is designed to reduce congestion at existing DVLA offices and eliminate long waiting hours often experienced by motorists. He added that improving accessibility to public services remains a key priority of his administration.
“This facility operates 24 hours to improve accessibility and convenience for our motorists in the Adenta Municipality and the whole Greater Accra area,” he said.
President Mahama noted that the initiative aligns with government’s broader 24-hour economy policy, which seeks to maximize productivity and ensure essential services are available beyond traditional working hours.
He expressed confidence that the new Adenta office will ease pressure on other branches while delivering faster and more efficient services to the public.
The President reaffirmed government’s commitment to modernizing state institutions and leveraging infrastructure expansion to enhance service delivery nationwide.
