Lands Minister Leads Delegation to 2026 Mining Indaba in South Africa

Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, who is also the Acting Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has touched down in South Africa to lead the country’s delegation to the 2026 Mining Indaba Conference.

According to Paa Kwesi Schandorf, Media Relations Officer at the Lands Ministry, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah arrived on Sunday, February 8, 2026, to represent Ghana at the four-day event, which brings together key players in the mining and extractive sectors.

During the conference, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Lands  is scheduled to take part in a series of high-level discussions and strategic engagements aimed at addressing pressing challenges within Ghana’s mining industry. These sessions will provide a platform for dialogue with global mining companies, investors, regulators, and government representatives from across the continent.

A highlight of the week will be the Ghana Day Event, slated for Wednesday, February 11. The event is designed to promote Ghana as a prime investment destination, showcase opportunities within the mining sector, and strengthen strategic partnerships that can accelerate growth and sustainable development in the country’s extractive industries.

The Mining Indaba is widely recognized as Africa’s leading mining and investment forum, offering a space to attract international capital, influence policy, and champion responsible mineral development. Participation in the conference aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision to bolster Ghana’s mining sector through enhanced global collaboration and targeted investment initiatives.

The official opening ceremony for the 2026 Mining Indaba was scheduled for Monday, February 9, 2026, marking the start of several days of intensive policy discussions, networking sessions, and strategic meetings. Ghana’s active involvement underscores the government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for mining investments while promoting sustainable practices within the sector.
