“Let’s Make It Five” – Fernandes After Man United’s Fourth Straight Win
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has challenged his teammates to extend their winning run after the Red Devils secured a fourth consecutive victory with a 2–0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
United continued their impressive resurgence under interim head coach Michael Carrick, with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Fernandes in either half sealing the win at Old Trafford. The result keeps the Red Devils fourth in the Premier League standings with 44 points.
Speaking to the BBC after the match, Fernandes praised Carrick and his backroom staff for the positive turnaround in performances and results.
“We have been doing very well… to do everything that Michael [Carrick] and the staff have been asking of us,” Fernandes said. “We have been very brave, taking responsibility in some moments in the game to go and play and do whatever you need to do to win the game.”
Despite the strong run of form, the United skipper stressed the importance of maintaining focus.
“The main focus is the next game. It’s four wins in a row, this one is nice, but we need to make it five now,” he added.
Manchester United will look to continue their momentum when they face West Ham United on Tuesday, February 10.
