The King of Eswatini, His Majesty King Mswati III, has called for stronger ties between Eswatini and Ghana, particularly in culture, lifestyle, and trade.
He described the relationship between the two nations as one with untapped potential for mutual development and prosperity.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to President John Dramani Mahama at the Jubilee House in Accra, His Majesty emphasized the importance of fostering stronger bonds through cultural exchange and economic collaboration.
He noted that both Ghana and Eswatini share deep-rooted traditional values, a strong sense of community, and a mutual commitment to development.
“There is great potential for growth between Eswatini and Ghana. Through closer cultural exchange and trade partnerships, we can elevate our shared aspirations and deepen the ties between our peoples,” the King of Eswatini stated.
He also commended Ghana for its leadership role in regional affairs and called for greater inter-African cooperation, particularly in the face of increasing global economic uncertainties.
President Mahama, for his part, welcomed the Eswatini delegation and praised the visit as a step forward in strengthening bilateral relations. He reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to deepening diplomatic and economic ties with Eswatini and the broader Southern African region.
“Ghana is ready to work closely with Eswatini, especially under the umbrella of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The AfCFTA presents a unique platform for African nations to boost intra-African trade, foster industrialization, and drive collective prosperity,” President Mahama stated.
The President emphasized that Ghana is committed to using the AfCFTA to build stronger trade and investment bridges with Eswatini and other African nations.
