iShowSpeed Visit Highlights Ghana’s Tourism and Investment Potential

By Esther Korantemaa Offei

Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, a multifaceted Ghanaian media personality, has described the recent visit of international internet sensation iShowSpeed as a major milestone for Ghana’s entertainment industry. Known for his sharp critiques, industry analysis, and contributions to both media and aviation, Asamoah-Baidoo has over a decade of experience shaping Ghana’s entertainment landscape.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Highway 10.19 on ZED FM, he said: “First, I would like to commend every entity involved in making iShowSpeed’s visit happen. He announced his Africa tour last November, and whoever convinced him to include Ghana deserves a special shout-out.”

He highlighted the economic and promotional benefits of the visit, noting its global reach. “When I checked international media coverage, I saw portals like Complex, The Shade Room, Revolt, and The Washington Post giving Ghana massive exposure. You cannot quantify that kind of attention. We’ve paid millions of dollars for a two-minute advert on CNN to promote tourism, but iShowSpeed’s visit gave us the same, for free. Every stage of his presence here was showcased worldwide,” he said.

Asamoah-Baidoo urged stakeholders to embrace such opportunities. “The economic benefits are remarkable, but only if we look beyond short-term thinking. This visit highlights how global entertainers can shine a spotlight on Ghana, boosting tourism and the entertainment industry,” he added.

Beyond media commentary, Asamoah-Baidoo is the CEO of a PR and communications firm that supports artists and high-profile clients. On managing multiple ventures, he explained: “PR is essential in an attention-driven industry. Artists must attract their audience while also appealing to corporate investors. My company positions brands to succeed with both fans and potential sponsors because success relies on both capital and influence.”

He also stressed the importance of private-sector investment in entertainment infrastructure. “We need bigger, multi-purpose arenas, like Madison Square Garden or the O2 Arena, which are privately owned. In Ghana, we often focus too much on government solutions. Business partnerships can create world-class venues. For instance, the Palms Convention Center and Grand Arena are privately owned and thrive because of investment,” he said.

Asamoah-Baidoo emphasized the responsibility of industry professionals to build investor confidence. “We must highlight the gains in our industry. If investors see the dividends, they will be encouraged to participate. Constant criticism only undermines confidence,” he noted.

With his extensive experience across media, aviation, acting, and entrepreneurship, Asamoah-Baidoo continues to champion global recognition, strategic investment, and professional PR as essential tools for elevating Ghana’s entertainment sector. His insights underscore a vision where local talent thrives on both national and international stages.
