I Have Unfinished Business at Kotoko – Albert Amoah

Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah says his decision to return to the club is driven by a desire to complete what he describes as “unfinished business” with the Porcupine Warriors.
Amoah made the remarks in an interview with the club’s media team following his return from a short loan spell at Libyan side Al-Ahli Benghazi. His departure earlier in the season had sparked widespread public backlash, coming immediately after Kotoko’s heavy 5–1 defeat to Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club, a result that knocked the Kumasi-based club out of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Since Amoah’s exit, Kotoko have endured a difficult run of form, particularly in front of goal. The club have been held to goalless draws against Berekum Chelsea and Bibiani Gold Stars, while also suffering a 2–1 defeat to Swedru All Blacks, raising concerns about their attacking efficiency and league ambitions.
Speaking in his first official interview since rejoining the club, the forward explained the motivation behind his return and reiterated his commitment to Kotoko’s title chase.
“I decided I wanted to come back to Kotoko so that I would finish everything that I started,” Amoah said. “It’s part of the desire to win the league, so I decided to return so that we can work hard and claim it.”
He added that the league race remains wide open and urged supporters to keep the faith.
“It’s not over. There are more matches to play. I believe we are going to work very hard to make it to the top. I am really happy to be here so that we can work as a team and achieve what we want.”
Amoah is expected to be available for selection when Asante Kotoko face Basake Holy Stars on Sunday, January 25, as the Porcupine Warriors look to revive their campaign and push up the league table.
