GIPC Signals Growing Investor Interest at CEO’s and Corporate Leaders Hangout

By: Solomon Nartey Tetteh

The Big Joe’s CEO’s and Corporate Leaders Hangout has spotlighted growing foreign investor confidence in Ghana, with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) confirming a significant rise in interest from international businesses seeking opportunities in the country.
Speaking at the high-level business networking event, Head of Investment Promotion and Business Development at GIPC, Kwame Kesse-Agyepong, said the Centre has recorded a sharp increase in inquiries from foreign investors, signalling renewed appetite for investing in Ghana.
“What we see clearly at GIPC is interest in the country. I receive emails, telephone calls and inquiries on a daily basis from people asking what they can do in Ghana and where the opportunities are,” he said.
Mr. Kesse-Agyepong described the CEO’s and Corporate Leaders Hangout as a timely platform for business executives to engage on how Ghanaian enterprises can leverage the renewed investor interest.
He noted that although investment inflows experienced a dip in recent years, data from last year shows a recovery, with expectations of even stronger performance this year.
“There is a desire and an appetite for Ghana. Among foreign investors, Ghana is the place to be for doing business now,” he stated.
He explained that the increasing interest from foreign investors translates into expanded opportunities for local businesses, urging Ghanaian CEOs and corporate leaders to position themselves strategically to benefit.
“More opportunity, more avenues and more space for you to do business. Local businesses must look at partnering and servicing the businesses that are coming into the country,” he said.
Mr. Kesse-Agyepong further outlined GIPC’s role in facilitating joint venture partnerships, stressing that the Centre serves as a bridge between local companies and foreign investors seeking reliable Ghanaian partners.
“One of our mandates at GIPC is to facilitate joint ventures. We link local businesses to foreign businesses looking for local partners, and also support local firms that need foreign participation and capital injection,” he explained.
Participants at the CEO’s and Corporate Leaders Hangout were encouraged to take advantage of the growing investor interest and the support structures available through GIPC to scale up operations, attract capital and expand into new markets.
The event brought together chief executives and corporate leaders to exchange ideas, build networks and explore practical ways of positioning Ghanaian businesses to benefit from the country’s improving investment outlook.
