Ghana’s Francis Abu, Who Suffered Compete Leg Fracture, Could Make Black Stars 2026 FIFA World Cup Squad

Ghana Black Stars midfielder, Francis Abu, who suffered a complete fracture of his right leg in a friendly game against Japan in November, could shockingly make Otto Addo’s Ghana Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after making a miraculous recovery from the injury.

Abu suffered a compete fracture of his right leg in a friendly match against Japan with the Black Stars on November 14th.

The Ghana Black Stars official X (formerly Twitter) account confirmed on December 9th that the Black Stars midfielder has already started hitting the gym in a miraculous comeback.

The Black Stars official X account shared a video of the Toulouse FC player riding a stationary exercise bicycle.

The video, while it has come as a shock to many, has been welcomed with joy because there were initial fears that the injury would keep the player out for more than a year, which would have meant Francis Abu would have missed out on the FIFA World Cup.

Now, however, with the strides Abu has made in recovery, there is a distant but real chance of the midfielder making Otto Addo’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.

The global football spectacle is set to commence in June next year and end in July the same year with the Ghana Black Stars set to face England, Croatia, and Panama in its group games after the draw held last week confirmed the team’s Group L opponents
