Celestine Donkor Partners Road Safety Authority to Lead National Anti-Crash Campaign

Ghanaian gospel musician Celestine Donkor has joined forces with the Road Safety Authority (RSA) to launch a national road-safety campaign aimed at curbing the rising spate of traffic accidents across the country.

As part of the initiative, the award-winning artiste will compose new music and produce video content highlighting the major causes of road crashes. She is also expected to use her influence to engage communities in activities that promote safer driving behaviours and responsible road use.

Speaking at the launch, Donkor urged motorists to adhere to basic safety practices. “Wear your seat belt always. And be patient on the roads,” she advised, stressing the need for drivers to respect speed limits and avoid distractions.

The campaign comes at a troubling time for Ghana. Between January and August 2025, road accidents claimed 9,937 lives nationwide, averaging six to eight deaths every day.

Donkor’s involvement adds to her growing record of social-impact initiatives. She has previously led a support group for female gospel musicians, which quietly provides aid to sick and elderly veteran artistes. A few years earlier, she also served as a vaccination ambassador for the Ghana Health Service, using her platform to build public confidence in COVID-19 vaccines.

With this new road-safety drive, Celestine Donkor hopes to draw national attention to the consequences of daily choices on the road and inspire motorists to take greater responsibility for saving lives.
