Newmont Contributes GH₵2.39 Billion to Ghana’s Treasury in Q3 2025

Newmont has paid a total of GH₵2.388 billion in taxes, royalties, levies, and carried interest to the Government of Ghana for the third quarter of 2025. The payments were made through various government agencies, including the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Forestry Commission, and the

Ministry of Finance.

The breakdown of the third-quarter contributions includes:

•           Corporate Tax: GH₵1.192 billion

•           Capital Gains Tax: GH₵511 million

•           Minerals Royalty: GH₵309 million

•           Carried Interest: GH₵234 million

•           Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) Tax: GH₵75 million

•           Withholding Tax: GH₵67 million

These payments bring Newmont’s total fiscal contributions for the year-to-date (January to September 2025) to GH₵9.874 billion, highlighting the company’s ongoing role in supporting Ghana’s fiscal and economic development.

Commenting on the payments, Danquah Addo-Yobo, Country Manager for Newmont Ghana, said “These contributions reflect our commitment to fulfilling our tax and statutory obligations to the state and supporting our local communities. By disclosing these payments, we promote transparency and good governance.”

Newmont remains one of Ghana’s leading taxpayers and a key driver of national development through employment creation, local procurement, and community investment. The recent official opening of Newmont’s Ahafo North mine in October 2025, which is projected to produce between 275,000 and 325,000 ounces of gold annually, will further expand the company’s operations in Ghana and its economic contributions to the country.
