‎By Victor Kwawu

The African Paralympic Committee’s President, Samson Deen, has received an outpouring of congratulations from the global Paralympic community following his re-election on November 9, 2025, in Accra, Ghana.

‎The British Paralympic Association (ParalympicsGB), one of the world’s most successful and influential national Paralympic bodies, was among the first to extend warm wishes. In a joint letter, Chief Executive David Clarke OBE and Chair Dan Brooke praised Deen’s “dedication, leadership, and vision for the region,” acknowledging his re-election as a testament to his exceptional leadership.

‎”ParalympicsGB is delighted to see Samson Deen re-elected as President of the African Paralympic Committee,” the letter read. “His insights and experience will be invaluable as we explore opportunities ahead, and we look forward to deepening our collaboration with the AfPC and its member nations.”

‎Deen’s re-election has been hailed as a significant milestone for African Paralympic sports, with international bodies commending his tireless efforts to promote inclusivity, athlete development, and sport diplomacy. Under his leadership, the AfPC has expanded partnerships, strengthened governance reforms, and elevated Africa’s presence in global Paralympic governance.

‎A Ghanaian sports administrator and advocate for disability inclusion, Deen first assumed the presidency of the AfPC in 2021. His re-election marks a new chapter in his mission to advance para-sports across Africa, with ParalympicsGB expressing confidence that his continued leadership will drive impactful progress in the region.
