Ato Forson highlights Economic Stability, Renewed Confidence in 2026 Budget presentation

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson says Ghana’s economy is on a firm path to recovery, with renewed investor confidence and improved fiscal stability.
Presenting the 2026 Budget Statement to Parliament on Thursday, Dr. Forson announced that the government has restored fiscal discipline, curbed inflation, stabilised the cedi, and revived investor confidence after years of economic turbulence.
“We have restored fiscal discipline, brought inflation under control, stabilised the cedi, and rekindled investors’ confidence. This is not just a recovery, it’s a reset. We are rebuilding from the ashes of a daunting inheritance,” he said.
Dr. Forson described the 2026 Budget as a continuation of efforts to rebuild the economy, emphasizing that the government’s approach goes beyond recovery to a complete “reset” of Ghana’s economic framework.
He assured Parliament that the government remains committed to prudent fiscal management and protecting the gains made so far.
“Confidence is returning. The Black Star is rising once more. Ghana is back, strong and full of hope. The tide has turned, and Ghana’s economy has now recovered, marked by renewed investor confidence,” he stated.
According to the Minister, the 2026 Budget builds on the foundations laid over the past two years, focusing on sustaining economic stability, deepening inflation control, and strengthening investor trust.
“This budget is about building on the foundation we have laid,” he added.
