Black Queens skipper Boakye joins TP Mazembe’s Ladies’ team
Ahead of the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League, Black Queens defender and captain Portia Boakye has completed her move to Congolese giants TP Mazembe women.
The veteran centre‑back signed a deal to join the African champions after ending her stay with Israeli side Hapoel Petah Tikva.
The 37‑year‑old has already been included in the Ladies Crows’ squad for the Africa Women’s Champions League.
She is expected to help TP Mazembe successfully defend their CAF Women’s Champions League title in Egypt.
The former Djurgarden player becomes the third Ghanaian to play for the Congolese outfit, joining Thelma Baffour on the team’s roster, as Victoria Osei has moved on.
Boakye recently led the Black Queens back to the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after Ghana finished third in the previous edition.
Meanwhile, TP Mazembe Women will begin their CAF Women’s Champions League campaign with a game against ASEC Mimosa on Sunday, 9 November.
They will also face Gaborone United Ladies and JKT Queens in Group B.
