I’m ready to take on the world – Wendy Shay

Ghanaian Afropop star Wendy Shay declares she is “emotionally, mentally, and spiritually ready” to take over the world with her new album Ready. The project, marking her seventh year in music, reflects themes of strength, self-discovery, and transformation.
In an interview on GHOne TV, the “Survivor” hitmaker explained, “I named it Ready because I’ve done the inner work. My soul mission is clear now. I know the direction I want to move in. I’m ready emotionally, mentally, and spiritually to showcase my talent to the world.”
Since its release on October 24, 2025, the album has been performing strongly across streaming platforms. “It’s booming everywhere. The numbers are insane. It’s number one on Afro Sounds on Audiomack and trending on Apple Music,” she shared excitedly.
Wendy Shay revealed that producing the album took nearly a year, involving intensive work, finances, sleepless nights, and collaboration with creatives. “It’s a good kind of stress,” she noted.
Although production costs are high, she sustains her career through live shows, brand partnerships, and ambassadorial deals with HiSense, PEA Beverages, and others. “I’m privileged to play shows every weekend. I also get revenue from streaming and ambassadorial deals, but I still need investors. It’s a very capital-intensive job.”
Her annual Shay Concert is scheduled for November 22 at West Hills Mall, promising fans “nothing but the best.” She added, “Just come and see. All your favorite artists will be there. It’s free, my way of giving back to society.”
