Minerals Income Investment Fund builds staff capacity to improve audit responses

The Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) has renewed its commitment to transparency and accountability through a two-day internal training programme on the theme“Effectively Responding to Audit Queries.”

The training, organised in partnership with the Internal Audit Agency, brought together MIIF staff from different departments to improve their understanding of audit processes and enhance the quality and speed of their responses to audit queries.

Speaking at the opening, MIIF Chief Executive Officer Justina Nelson said strong internal controls and effective audit practices are key to building a credible financial institution. She stressed that accountability is a core value of MIIF and essential to maintaining public trust.

“Every decision we make and every cedi we manage must meet the highest standards for the people of Ghana,” she said, adding that accurate and timely audit responses demonstrate the Fund’s integrity and professionalism.

Mrs Nelson urged participants to take the training seriously and apply the lessons learned to strengthen MIIF’s operations. She commended the Internal Audit Department and the facilitators for their dedication, noting that stronger systems will make MIIF more efficient and credible.

The Acting Director of Technical, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation at the Internal Audit Agency, Senanu Mensah, who led the sessions, advised public servants to be clear and precise when responding to audit queries to avoid misinterpretation or confusion.

The training aims to boost staff capacity in documentation, reporting and compliance with regulatory standards, reinforcing MIIF’s commitment to good governance and operational excellence.
