Festival of Fitness promotes health, unity

The Ghana South Africa Business (GSAB) Chamber’s Festival of Fitness over the weekend culminated in an event filled with physical fitness tutorials and tips on healthy living.

The Festival of Fitness formed part of the Chamber’s 25th-anniversary celebrations, featuring yoga, aerobics, dance aerobics, Core Collective, and Rainbow Nation padel aerobics.

It attracted participants from over twenty nationalities, including top business leaders, politicians, national tennis players, and representatives from leading businesses.

Speaking at the event, the Patron of the Chamber and Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey Constituency, Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, emphasized the importance of physical and mental well-being through regular exercise.

“Personally, I’m very committed to fitness because it helps to manage stress, control blood pressure, and make you more productive. If we can encourage as many people as possible, of all ages, to remain active and healthy, that is how we build a healthy nation,” she said.

Dr Rawlings also highlighted the significance of Pan-Africanism and the Chamber’s role in promoting unity and collaboration.

“It is a real feather in the cap of the Chamber that this initiative genuinely touches lives. My foundation has focused on supporting education and healthcare, and this will definitely complement our efforts,” she stressed.

GSAB Chamber President Grant Webber underscored the impact of sports on communities and education.

“Today’s event is about building bridges and collaboration… helping communities and prioritising purpose over profit. Sports is a vehicle for education and changing lives,” he said.

The Festival of Fitness aimed to promote healthy living, physical fitness, and community engagement, aligning with the Chamber’s mission to foster partnerships and support education and healthcare initiatives.
