Didi Dramani vows to improve Hearts goal conversion

The 21-time Ghana Premier League champions are playing exciting football and are rock-solid at the back. However, they have been disjointed upfront this season, a situation increasingly concerning fans, despite their appreciation of how seldom Hearts concede.

Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani says his technical team will intensify efforts to improve the side’s attacking efficiency, despite already putting in significant work in that area.

The Phobians have made an unbeaten start to the 2025–26 Ghana Premier League season but have struggled to score, netting only twice in five matches while remaining unbeaten at the back. Their run includes two wins and three draws, leaving them fifth on the 18-team table.

Speaking after a goalless draw against Kpando Heart of Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium, Dramani admitted that his team’s lack of goals is a concern but emphasized that their overall progress and playing identity remain crucial.

“Every coach will be worried in this instance, but the most important aspect is what we are doing – that we have an identity.

“To control opponents when they have the ball is key, so I think the next phase is what we need to intensify. We’ve been doing a lot in this regard; I don’t have to justify this, but I think it is still work in progress,” he said.

Hearts were without goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, who was on national duty with the Black Stars in Ghana’s 1-0 victory over Comoros, a result that secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
