Ghana South Africa Chamber marks 25 years with Festival of Fitness

The Ghana South Africa Business Chamber’s Festival of Fitness over the weekend created a vibrant atmosphere to promote healthy living and physical fitness as part of its 25th-anniversary celebrations.

The event featured yoga, aerobics, dance aerobics, Core Collective, and Rainbow Nation padel aerobics, attracting over 20 nationalities, top business leaders, politicians, national tennis players, and businesses.

During the closing ceremony, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey and Patron of the Chamber, emphasised the importance of physical and mental well-being through regular exercise.

She highlighted the significance of Pan-Africanism and the Chamber’s role in promoting unity and collaboration.

“Fitness is key to building a healthy nation. By supporting initiatives like this, we’re not just promoting health and wellness, but also showing true Pan-Africanism in action,” Dr Rawlings said.

On his part, the Chamber President Grant Webber emphasised the impact of sports on communities and education, highlighting the Chamber’s commitment to building bridges between Ghana, South Africa, and the international business community.

“Today’s event is about building bridges and collaboration… making an impact, helping communities, and prioritising purpose over profit.

“For me, sports is a vehicle for education and changing lives, empowering individuals to become impactful professionals,” he stated.

Madam Orefile Malope, Chairperson of the 25th Anniversary Committee, announced plans for upcoming events, including a November celebration of Pan-Africanism and collaboration opportunities.

The Festival of Fitness aimed to promote healthy living, physical fitness, and community engagement, aligning with the Chamber’s mission to foster partnerships and support education and healthcare initiatives.

The Ghana South Africa Business Chamber promotes trade, investment, and cultural interactions between Ghana and South Africa, comprising members from various sectors.
