Ghana to attend first Burkina Faso Investment Forum

The nation will participate in the first International Forum ‘Invest in Burkina Faso’ (FIIBF) to promote regional trade, industrial development and economic integration.

The two-day event will take place from 9 to 10 October 2025 in Ouagadougou and will be hosted by the Burkinabe Ministry of Industry, Trade and Craft.

A high-level dialogue between the Head of State of Burkina Faso and major investors will headline the event, focusing on the country’s development priorities, investment incentives and strategic partnerships to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) into key sectors such as agribusiness, manufacturing and renewable energy.

Ghana’s delegation, led by Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Sampson Ahi, will represent the nation’s interests and showcase Ghana’s growing appeal as a hub for business and investment in the region.

Ahead of the forum, Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare charged the delegation to uphold Ghana’s leadership in regional commerce and project the nation’s private sector as a key driver of West Africa’s economic growth.

Speaking during a pre-departure briefing in Accra, the minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to deepening regional cooperation, trade integration and industrial collaboration across the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

“Our business community is eager to participate in this forum, not only to exhibit our products but also to deepen engagement beyond this event. We must project Ghana’s values of innovation, resilience and enterprise while building partnerships that create long-term value for our people,” she said.

The Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Ghana welcomed the country’s participation, describing Ghana’s presence at the forum as “a great honour” and a testament to its unwavering commitment to regional unity and sustainable development.

“Ghana’s involvement demonstrates its continued commitment to regional integration and the shared vision for prosperity within our sub-region,” the Ambassador stated.

The forum is expected to serve as a strategic business platform for strengthening partnerships, facilitating networking and promoting investment-led growth.

Participants will explore ways to enhance market access, promote industrial linkages and encourage joint ventures across borders.
