Carve a niche to stand out  – Brand strategist urges businesses

Brand strategist Ebo Richardson has urged businesses to define and create a secure, distinct position in the market by focusing on a specific customer segment or offering a unique product or service that competitors often overlook.

According to Mr Richardson, carving a niche enables a business to stand out from the rest. This strategy, he explained, allows companies to establish themselves as experts, attract a targeted audience and potentially increase profits by meeting unmet needs, rather than competing in an oversaturated market.

“We live in a global world now where everything can be accessed with just a click of a finger, so it is very necessary for businesses to ensure the services they are rendering are unique,” he stated.

“The world is now global and because people are becoming increasingly exposed, entitled and demanding, a business must be able to clearly and succinctly communicate the services they offer, why consumers should patronise them and give them reasons to return.”

He also encouraged business owners to build a strong online presence and utilise social media to connect with their audience, while optimising their online platforms to reach and convert customers.

“Like I said, it’s a global village now, and a business in Ghana with an online presence is likely to have a customer as far as the UK or the USA. If that is the case, it is highly important to take online presence seriously, post relevant content about products or services and attract new customers while retaining existing ones,” Mr Richardson added.

Mr Richardson shared these insights on the Business Breakfast on ZED 101.9FM.
