2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Kofi Adams demands win against CAR

It will not be an easy ride for the Black Stars in Morocco, as the Central African Republic poses a significant threat to Ghana’s World Cup hopes. With a historic appearance on the line, major stakeholders are weighing in on the qualification process.
Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, is expecting a commanding performance from the Black Stars when they face the Central African Republic in their penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Ghana will take on the Central African Republic on Wednesday, 8 October, at the Stade d’Honneur in Morocco, in a crucial Matchday 9 encounter that could determine their qualification fate, kicking off at 16:00 GMT.
Mr Adams emphasised the need for a convincing win, saying: “I expect the Black Stars to do nothing but win and win convincingly because we need that win to safeguard our presence at the World Cup. They must win, nothing less than a win. That’s what we expect.”
The Black Stars will conclude their qualifying campaign on Sunday, 12 October, when they host Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kick-off at 19:00 GMT.
Ghana, a four-time African champion, is seeking a fifth World Cup appearance, having previously featured in the 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022 editions.
