Wayne Rooney hails Mo Kudus’ impact at Spurs

The arrival of Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus has been a major boost for the London outfit.
Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney believes Kudus has added a new dimension to Tottenham Hotspur following the Ghanaian’s first goal for the club.
Kudus, who had already provided four assists this season, opened his account with a powerful low-driven strike past Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow, sealing a 2-1 victory for Spurs at Elland Road on Saturday.
Kudus joined Tottenham in the summer in a £55 million deal from West Ham United, where his influence had appeared to be fading following an explosive debut season after leaving Ajax. Kudus celebrated his maiden goal with his trademark “chair celebration,” a moment that impressed Rooney, who praised both the goal and the player’s overall contribution.
“Kudus has made a really good start to his Tottenham career,” Rooney said on BBC. “Spurs have spent a bit of money and now have a lot of strength in depth with plenty of attacking options, but I think Kudus has been the best of their new signings.
He’s brought a different aspect to the team, both on and off the ball. He’s an exciting player, quick, strong and works hard.”
For Spurs boss Thomas Frank, expectations are high for the Ghanaian international.
“It was about time, wasn’t it? We’ve got big expectations. I’m so happy for Mo. He needed that goal. He’s been our best offensive player so far. You just see, he looked a little bit more fluid,” he said after the game.
Kudus’ through ball teed up Mathys Tel to score his first goal of the season before the midfielder struck into the bottom corner to restore Spurs’ advantage after Noah Okafor had equalised for the hosts. The 24-year-old has so far been involved in four goals.
