GES sacks KNUST SHS assistant headmaster over viral video with female student

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has dismissed the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, Mr Charles Akwasi Aidoo, after a viral video showed him in a compromising situation with a female student.
In a statement issued on Monday, 29 September, the GES said it had taken immediate action upon becoming aware of the video circulating on social media.
The Service stressed that it views the matter with “utmost seriousness” and remains committed to safeguarding students.
“Mr Aidoo has already been removed from office and prohibited from going to the school while thorough investigations are being carried out,” the statement said.
GES assured parents, stakeholders and the public that due process will be followed and appropriate disciplinary action taken in accordance with its code of conduct.
“The GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and child protection in all our schools.
“We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity and well-being of students,” the statement added.
