Stonebwoy refutes Shatta Wale diss claims in new track

Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has dismissed claims that his latest track, ‘Deeper,’ contains a subtle jab at rival artiste Shatta Wale, insisting the lyrics were a prayer and not a diss.
The speculation followed the release of Stonebwoy’s ‘The Torcher’ EP on 9 September, with social media users suggesting that certain lyrics referenced Shatta Wale’s recent troubles with the Economic and Financial Crimes Office (EOCO) over a Lamborghini.
But Stonebwoy, in an interview that has since gone viral, explained that the timing of events made the allegations impossible.
According to him, the EP had already been submitted to digital platforms as early as 8 August, nearly a month before its official release.
“Before the EP got released, we had to submit it at least four weeks earlier so that the various platforms could have it in their systems. The EP was already submitted on 8 August, weeks before its release on 9 September,” he clarified.
The artiste further emphasised that the lyrics in question were not prophetic, nor intended to mock anyone, but rather an expression of gratitude.
“I didn’t foresee anyone’s downfall; the lyrics were part of a prayer to God. I was just thanking God for His guidance through it all,” Stonebwoy said.
