Cherries confirm no January sale for Antoine Semenyo

By Victor Kwawu

Premiership side AFC Bournemouth has taken a firm stance on Ghana international Antoine Semenyo ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

The Black Stars forward was a top transfer target for several clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur, during the summer transfer window, but Semenyo opted to sign a new deal with the Cherries.

Bournemouth is bracing itself for a fresh wave of bids for the Ghana international as the winter window approaches, having rejected offers over the summer.

Currently, Bournemouth holds all the cards regarding the forward’s future. With no release clause in his current contract, clubs interested in the former Bristol City player will have to meet Bournemouth’s terms and pay £70 million.

Meanwhile, the Premier League club has ruled out a January sale of Semenyo and is determined to retain their star forward for the foreseeable future.

Semenyo has been in scintillating form for Bournemouth this season, scoring three goals and delivering two assists in five Premier League appearances.

His impressive start to the 2025/26 league season earned him Bournemouth’s Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards for August.
