Kotoko ready for Kwara United test in CAF Confederation Cup – Zito

Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has stated that his side is prepared to take on Nigerian powerhouse Kwara United in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Zito’s men broke a 15-year winless run at the Berekum Golden City Park through Albert Amoah’s 80th-minute strike on Saturday, which also earned them the maximum three points away from their base, the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
However, the Porcupine Warriors will have to quickly put behind them the joy of victory in Berekum as they shift focus to their continental assignment.
As winners of last season’s MTN FA Cup, the Porcupine Warriors are hopeful of mounting a solid campaign at the continental level. The team is already in the capital, Accra, to intensify preparations for the blockbuster fixture.
Gaffer Abdul Karim Zito, who guided Dreams FC to the semi-finals in the 2023/24 season, believes the victory over Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea will restore fans’ confidence in the team and also motivate his players ahead of the showdown with Kwara United.
