Accra to host Africa’s First CFO conference this November

The nation’s capital, Accra, is set to become the financial hub of the continent in November when it hosts the inaugural Conference of African Chief Finance Officers (CACFO), scheduled for 3 to 4 November 2025 at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel.

The two-day summit, organised by CACFO in collaboration with the International CFO Alliance, the University of Ghana Business School, and KPMG, is expected to convene an influential mix of chief financial officers, multinational executives, government leaders, and policy experts from across Africa and beyond.

Themed “Profit, Risks & Scalability: The African CFO on a Continent in Flux”, the conference will provide a unique platform for business finance leaders to dissect pressing challenges facing corporate and public finance, share strategies for sustainable growth, and foster cross-sector collaboration.

Strategic Highlights

Among the key sessions on the agenda are a high-level policy leaders’ dialogue, designed to connect CFOs with fiscal and monetary policymakers, and a series of plenary discussions, keynote speeches, fireside chats, and expert panels featuring prominent African and international finance figures.

A Young and Aspiring CFOs panel will be dedicated to mentoring the next generation of finance leaders, while the Female Finance Leaders’ Dialogue will spotlight the rising influence of women shaping Africa’s economic and corporate transformation.

In addition, the CACFO Marketplace will provide a premier networking and deal-making environment for corporate executives, investors, and policymakers.

The event will climax with the Africa Finance Leaders Awards and Reception, recognising exceptional contributions of CFOs across both corporate and public institutions.

High-Profile Attendees

The organisers have confirmed a strong line-up of distinguished participants. Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, will attend as Special Guest of Honour.

Other notable attendees include H.E. Mohammed Nasheed, Former President of the Maldives and Secretary-General of the Climate Vulnerable Forum; Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson; Togo’s Minister of Finance and Economy, Essowe Georges Barcola; and Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Asiama.

Top corporate finance leaders will also feature prominently, including Ayo Adepoju, Group CFO of Ecobank; Tsholofelo Molefe, Group CFO of MTN; and Hassatou Diop N’Sele, Vice President and CFO of the African Development Bank (AfDB).

Driving Africa’s Financial Future

The CACFO Secretariat underscored that the event is designed to advance financial excellence across the continent, both in corporate boardrooms and public sector institutions.

“The conference will equip Africa’s finance leaders with insights, strategies, and partnerships that drive growth, resilience, and scalability in our rapidly evolving economic environment,” the organisers stated.
