Annie Macaulay’s Instagram post sparks talk on split with 2Baba

Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay has sparked fresh conversations about her personal life with a post many believe reflects on her past experiences with music icon Innocent 2Baba Idibia.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Annie shared her hopes that her daughter would make wiser decisions in life and always value herself.

She wrote that she wished her daughter would “know her worth from the start” and “never accept things” she herself endured.

The message quickly stirred reactions online, with fans and observers linking it to the actress’s marriage to 2Baba, which ended earlier this year.

Annie publicly confirmed the split during the 17th Headies Awards in Atlanta in May 2025.

While presenting an award, she almost introduced herself as “Idibia” before correcting to “Macaulay,” then playfully addressed single women in the audience.

The moment was widely seen as her first open acknowledgment of her new status.

Her ex-husband had announced their separation earlier, in January 2025, drawing the curtain on a marriage that began in 2013 and lasted more than a decade.

The couple share two daughters.
