Mahama to host media encounter, September 10

President John Dramani Mahama will on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, host a Presidential Media Encounter at The Presidency, in what is expected to be one of the most closely followed engagements of his tenure.

The event is scheduled to begin at 8.00 p.m and will be broadcast live across major media networks.

A statement issued on Monday, 8 September 2025, and signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President, indicated that the encounter will provide a platform for President Mahama to engage directly with Ghanaians, through the media, on a wide range of pressing national issues.

According to the statement, the interaction will not only address current economic and social concerns but will also highlight progress made under the government’s Resetting Ghana Agenda.

This flagship initiative, launched earlier this year, focuses on stabilising the economy, boosting productivity, creating jobs and accelerating infrastructural development across the country.

Journalists from various media houses nationwide are expected to participate in the high-profile session.

The format will allow members of the press to pose direct questions to the President on issues ranging from the economy, energy, health and education, to governance, security and international relations.

Given the wide array of challenges and opportunities confronting Ghana, officials say the encounter is designed to ensure transparency, accountability and constructive dialogue between the Presidency and the citizenry.

The Presidency further emphasised that attendance will be strictly by accreditation, underscoring the need for order and coordination during the interaction.

“The Presidency looks forward to a productive and engaging session with the media,” the statement added.

The 10 September media encounter will mark one of President Mahama’s most significant engagements with the press since he assumed office earlier this year.

The event is therefore expected to generate widespread national interest, particularly as it comes at a time when economic reforms, debt sustainability, youth employment and the fight against corruption remain dominant issues in the public discourse.

The session will offer an important opportunity for the President to clarify aspects of his Reset Agenda, while providing assurances to Ghanaians and the international community about the government’s commitment to stability, inclusiveness and growth.
