Antoine Semenyo nominated for player of the month in England
Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has been nominated for the August Player of the Month award in the English Premier League.
The AFC Bournemouth star enjoyed a blistering start to the season, scoring two goals and providing an assist in three matches in August.
Semenyo will face competition from Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike, Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace, and Ricardo Calafiori of Arsenal.
Also in contention for the award are Manchester City’s Erling Braut Haaland, Joao Pedro of Chelsea, Everton’s Jack Grealish, and Dominik Szoboszlai of Liverpool.
The winner of the award will be announced on Monday, 8 September, following a public vote by Premier League fans.
Semenyo is also in contention for the Goal of the Month award, after his spectacular solo strike against Liverpool was shortlisted.
Meanwhile, he is currently in camp with the Black Stars ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali this month.
The Black Stars are aiming to return to the global stage after failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
