The Black Stars of Ghana have left Accra for N’Djamena ahead of the 2026
FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad.
Ghana opened camp on Monday, with twelve players participating in the
first training session, held at the Accra Sports Stadium. Ten players
joined on Tuesday as the team intensified preparations in Accra.
Meanwhile, the rest of the squad are expected to join the team for
Tuesday’s trip.
As mandated by the world’s football governing body (FIFA) and CAF, the
Stars will train at the match venue (N’Djamena) on Wednesday before the
clash on Thursday afternoon.
Head coach Otto Addo is expected to travel with all 24 players invited
for the qualifying series this month.
Ghana will face Chad at the Stade Olympique Idriss Deby Itno at 1 pm on
Thursday, September 4, 2025 before hosting Mali in a crunch clash at the
Accra Sports Stadium on September 8, with victories in both games
crucial to securing them a ticket to the World Cup.
Currently, the West African powerhouse sit top of Group I, accumulating
15 points after six matches, followed by Comoros (12 points), Madagascar
(10), Mali (9), the Central African Republic (5), with Chad yet to
secure a point.
The Black Stars will wrap up their qualifiers against the Central
African Republic and Comoros in October.
