School Placement portal restored
The Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) Review and Confirmation Portal is back online after a brief technical challenge that temporarily disrupted access for candidates preparing to enter senior high schools.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) confirmed in a press statement issued on Friday, 29 August 2025, that all concerns had been resolved and the portal is now fully functional.
According to the release, signed by GES Public Relations Officer Daniel Fenyi, candidates are encouraged to log in using their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) Index Number and Date of Birth to review and confirm their selected schools.
The GES explained that the portal will remain accessible until 8 September 2025, providing candidates with a 10-day window to complete the review and confirmation process.
Authorities stressed, however, that the system is strictly for review purposes and does not permit any alterations or substitutions of school choices already submitted during the placement process.
“This exercise is designed solely to give candidates and parents the opportunity to verify and confirm the accuracy of their selected schools before final placement is announced,” the statement emphasised.
To forestall any recurrence of the recent disruption, the GES assured the public that its technical team is actively monitoring the platform, with a dedicated 24-hour support team on standby to provide timely assistance to candidates, parents and guardians experiencing challenges.
The Service expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and cooperation during the short downtime, noting that the quick restoration was made possible by strong collaboration between the technical team and the Ministry of Education’s ICT department.
Transparency and Confidence in Placements
Education experts say the review and confirmation stage is critical to ensuring transparency in the placement system, which has often faced scrutiny over accuracy and fairness.
By giving candidates the opportunity to double-check their submissions, the GES aims to boost confidence in the 2025 placement exercise.
