Ghanaian midfielder Gideon Jung joins Kayserispor in Turkey

German-born Ghanaian midfielder Gideon Jung has joined Turkish Süper Lig side Kayserispor.
The 30-year-old versatile midfielder signed a one-year deal with the option of a further 12 months to join Kayserispor from German club Greuther Fürth.
The former Germany youth international arrived in Turkey last week to complete formalities and has joined his new teammates as preparations continue ahead of the new campaign.
“A 1+1 year contract has been signed between our club and Gideon Jung. We wish our footballer success under our glorious jersey,” wrote Kayserispor in announcing Jung’s signing.
Jung, who spent most of his career in Germany playing for Hamburger SV, Oberhausen and Bamberg, has made 300 appearances across the various divisions.
Moving to Turkey marks his first spell abroad, and he is expected to play a vital role in Kayserispor’s campaign.
He joins fellow German-born Ghanaian Aaron Opoku, who signed for the Red and Golds during the summer transfer window, at Kayserispor. Jung will make his debut for the club in the season’s opener against Istanbul Başakşehir.
