The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has directed the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to compile a comprehensive inventory of all uncompleted educational projects across the country.
He made the announcement during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly constituted Council of Accra Technical University on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
According to the Minister, the directive is part of a broader strategy to improve the quality of education by ensuring the timely completion of stalled infrastructure projects.
He emphasized the need for a clear overview of these unfinished developments to enable the Ministry to develop a structured implementation plan.
“I am also aware of a number of uncompleted projects in this institution. I have asked GETFund to provide us with an inventory of uncompleted projects across the country so we can formulate a plan to complete them,” Mr. Iddrisu said.
The Minister also tasked the new council to prioritize the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor for Accra Technical University, which has been without one for the past two years.
“I am reliably informed that the institution has been without a Vice-Chancellor for the last two years. That vacancy certainly affects management. I trust the council will treat this as a matter of urgent concern,” he stated.
Mr. Iddrisu reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening leadership and infrastructure in tertiary institutions to enhance academic excellence and institutional development.
