Ghanaian midfielder Frank Adjei joins Swedish side Hammarby IF

Swedish top-flight side Hammarby IF has completed the signing of Ghanaian attacking midfielder Frank Junior Adjei.
The 21-year-old signed a four-year deal to join Hammarby in the summer transfer window from IFK Värnamo.
Junior Adjei joins the Green and White after making 15 appearances in the Swedish Allsvenskan for Värnamo this season, netting two goals and providing an assist.
“It’s a big club. I’ve heard and seen a lot about Hammarby. This is where I want to be, and I’m really looking forward to playing for the club,” an excited Junior Adjei said after completing the move.
The promising midfielder started his career in Ghana with Golden Boys Academy before spells at Vision FC and Bibiani GoldStars.
Hammarby IF sports director Mikael Hjelmberg expressed delight at signing the versatile player.
“With Adjei we get a young, developable player who, despite his age, has already made over 50 Allsvenskan matches. He can play in several positions in midfield and will contribute with his creativity, which is exactly what we need.
“In addition, he knows the Allsvenskan and is in full physical shape, which means the starting stretch should be relatively short,” said Hjelmberg.
