Daniel Ayittah first Ghanaian gospel engineer inducted into recording academy

Ghanaian sound engineer and founder of Outluk Records, Daniel Ayittah, has been officially inducted into the Recording Academy’s 2025 New Member Class, making history as the first Ghanaian gospel sound engineer to be welcomed into the prestigious global music body.
Ayittah joins nearly 3,600 new members this year as part of the Academy’s ongoing efforts to expand diversity and representation across its voting membership and professional networks.
With this induction, Ayittah gains a voice in the GRAMMY Awards process and access to a global platform to support and advocate for music industry professionals, especially within the gospel genre.
Over the past decade, Ayittah has earned a reputation as one of Africa’s most respected gospel mix engineers. His career began in a modest university studio and has since grown into the full-fledged Outluk Records studio in Accra. He has recorded for a host of celebrated gospel artists across Africa, including Joe Mettle, Dunsin Oyekan, Sinach, Victoria Orenze, Moses Bliss, CalledOut Music, KaeStrings, Prospa Ochimana, Preye Odede, and Daniel Ojo.
Ayittah’s dedication to his craft also took him to Nashville, Tennessee, where he trained under world-renowned engineers such as John “Yosh” Jaszcz, Randy Poole, Jon Blass, Adam David Smith, and AyRon Lewis.
These experiences have refined his sound and contributed to his reputation as a world-class audio professional in both African and international gospel music circles.
Looking ahead, Ayittah plans to extend his influence by launching mentorship programs and educational workshops for young sound engineers across the continent. He also intends to roll out a series of online masterclasses aimed at equipping the next generation of audio professionals.
