Amerado fires back at critics over deleted Delay interviews

Ghanaian rapper Amerado has responded to public backlash following his decision to question television host Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, about the removal of their interviews from her YouTube channel.

On Saturday, June 29, the musician shared a video clip on social media showing himself and Delay in a car, a throwback from one of their widely viewed interviews. The post was accompanied by a cryptic caption:

“Your interviews with me are no more on your channel. How did we get here?”

The post immediately sparked online conversation, with many social media users sharing mixed reactions. While some sympathized with the rapper’s sentiment, others criticized his choice of platform to address the issue.

Critics argued that, given the seemingly cordial relationship the two shared in the past, Amerado could have reached out to Delay privately for clarification rather than airing his concerns publicly.

“You have her number. This could have been sorted quietly,” one user commented.

The conversation quickly evolved into a broader debate about emotional maturity and the appropriate way to handle disagreements in the public eye.

In response to the criticism, Amerado returned to social media on June 30 to explain his stance.

“Lol, emotional maturity? Do you think a public interview on a public platform is a private matter? If you can’t bear public information, don’t even think of private,” he wrote.

The rapper’s remarks have reignited public interest in the nature of his past interactions with Delay, including rumors of a close friendship, or something more between the two. Neither party has fully confirmed nor denied the speculation.
